Heartgard is given once a month to your dog to prevent heartworm disease.

HEARTGARDŽ contains ivermectin and is used to prevents heartworm disease. HEARTGARDŽ is recommended for dogs over the age of 6 weeks.
HEARTGARDŽ should be given each month, on or about the same day of the month, during mosquito season. All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with HEARTGARDŽ.
